Course Description:
Students will have the opportunity to create
their own video projects by learning the basics of writing scripts,
directing for the camera, shooting video footage, and editing video
tape. Techniques of script writing, storyboarding and filmmaking will be
emphasized; as well as camera techniques, and the use of non-linear video editing systems. A portion of the curriculum will
involve preparing for the homeroom announcement broadcasts where
students will learn to use the various equipment required for such a
broadcast. With our cable access channel, students will
have the opportunity to create programs for the Tenafly Community.
Students in this class will also have the opportunity to participate in
live broadcasts of school events such as athletic contests, music
concerts, the Olympics and other class events. Through this course,
students will work individually in groups to complete projects in
various formats including music video, documentary, sports videos and
short films. A portion of the class time will also be devoted to the
Video Yearbook. |

How
to Reach Me:
I tend to be one of the more difficult teachers to
find at times. If you need to get in touch with me outside of class, I
am always around somewhere, but I never know where I will be. The best
places to try are in the library or on the
stage. If you need to leave something for me (a paper, etc.), go to the
attendance office and ask a secretary to put it in my mailbox or see one
of the library secretaries. If you or
your parents need to call me for any reason, my phone number is (201)
816-6662. You can also e-mail me at smoger@tenafly.k12.nj.us |
