Digital Video Camera / Editing Equipment Usage and Policies:
The following information and guidelines are provided regarding the use of the library’s digital video cameras and video editing computers:
1. Students must have permission from their instructors to borrow any video equipment from the library and instructors should check with the library first and provide names of students in advance. Cameras will never be given directly to students without instructor’s permission first. 2. All video camcorders are lent out on an overnight basis only. Approved students may pick up equipment after the school day and return it prior to the start of the following day. 3. The student will be responsible for any damage to the equipment other than normal wear. 4. Video gathered and edited by the student will always be appropriate and specific to the project assigned. Students must be well informed in advance that their purpose in the gathering of any information through video must always be respectful and appropriate in action and language. 5. Students may not ask staff to be in their video projects on the fly. Students wishing to use staff in their projects may: a) fully inform the staff member of the subject matter and scope of their project (in writing with script) and b) respectfully make the request of the staff member in advance. 6. Video cameras may not be used by students in their academic classes during the day unless specific permission is granted by the teacher in writing and in advance. This written permission will be given to the classroom teacher that assigned the project. 7. Students should follow the assignment carefully, using the camera and equipment exclusively for the completion of the specific assignment. 8. Completed projects are for presentation in the school/class only. 9. All projects must be in compliance with Tenafly High School rules and regulations. |
